No, and that is the point. Blue pottery is painted freehand, so no two lids match perfectly. Block print has registration variance of a millimetre or two. If you need identical pieces for a set, tell us and we will match them from the same batch before shipping.
Jaipur blue pottery, Sanganeri hand block print and Bagru print all carry Geographical Indication protection, which means the name legally belongs to work actually made here by these methods. We hold the authorised-user paperwork and will send a copy with any order.
The glaze is lead-free and fired at 800°C, so yes for dry food and short contact. We do not recommend it for hot liquids stored for hours or for the dishwasher, and we say so on the product card rather than in the small print.
Pottery goes in a moulded foam bed inside two boxes with 4 cm of clearance. Our breakage rate is 1.4%, and anything that arrives broken is replaced on your word alone. We do not ask for photographs or make you return the pieces.
Yes. Custom colours, sizes and motifs are possible in all four crafts with a 3–5 week lead time and 50% advance. The artisan is paid the advance the day the order is confirmed, not when it ships.
